Free music? Am I kidding?
I’m not kidding. For many composers, fees for publication help to put food on the table. I’ve been fairly lucky in life and I know many performers have to count their pennies. So I’m providing as much as I can at no fee. You use your own printer and I don’t have to bother with inventory.
To get a score, just fill out the online form and submit it. Within a day or two you’ll receive an email with the score or a link to it.. All are PDF files, which you may print or use with a tablet application such as ForScore. There is no charge, but all music remains Copyright © Michael Carnes, with all rights reserved. If you perform this piece publicly, please let me know. With a little advance notice, I’ll try to incorporate a concert notice into my news feed.
Please note that you will be asked for an email address along with some basic address information. You will not be asked for any credit card information and your data will never be provided to anyone else. I don’t like getting spammed any more than you do, so I’m not going to share your information with anyone. If you’d like another player to have a copy of a piece, please send that friend here for their own copy. That helps me keep track of what’s popular.
I cannot presently provide vocal music here without violating agreements with the publishers of the poetry. Please use my contact form if you’re interested in a vocal piece. In time, I will also have some of my orchestral music here.
